AGENCY BUYER TESTING
How Well Is Your Website Turning Serious Buyers Into Enquiries?

I’ll put your website in front of the people it is intended to persuade.
Somewhere on your website, a potential high-value client has decided not to contact you. Find out where, why and what could have changed their decision, and how your website performs when buyers compare you with other credible agencies.
- Do they quickly understand what you offer? If not, why not?
- Do they believe your agency is suitable for their project?
- Does your website give evidence to take you seriously?
- Do they find your differentiators meaningful?
- What questions remain unanswered?
- What makes them prefer one agency over another?
- What creates hesitation around making contact?
- What changes should be prioritised to strengthen buyer confidence and improve the journey towards enquiry.
3 Agencies
Your website is evaluated alongside two credible alternative agency websites.
6 Real Buyers
All participants are looking for or have recently appointed a partner agency.
Comparative Findings
Detailed findings, comparison insights, and prioritised recommendations for your site.
Two ways to run the research
Take part in a Shared Test for £1,500 + VAT, or commission a Dedicated Test for £3,500 + VAT and nominate the two agency websites you want to be compared against.
Shared Test
£1,500 + VAT per agency
Three agencies participate in the same research project, sharing the costs. The six buyers evaluate all three websites, with viewing order rotated.
The identities of the other two agencies are not disclosed. You’ll be given broad characteristics of the other agencies, but not their names. You receive:
- Detailed private findings about your website.
- Video clips supporting the key findings.
- Comparison with the other two agency websites.
- Prioritised recommendations.
- A 45-minute debrief call to discuss the report.
Maximum of three participating agencies per Shared Test.
Shared projects begin once three agencies are confirmed, with results typically available the week following the sessions.
Dedicated Test
£3,500 + VAT
Commission the research exclusively for your agency. You choose two alternative agency websites for comparison. Six real buyers compare your website with those two alternatives, but only you receive the research and findings. The comparison agencies are not participating clients and receive no results. The research will help you understand:
- How clearly buyers understand your offer and positioning.
- Which parts of your website build trust, and which create doubt.
- How your content compares with competitor websites.
- Which differentiators buyers notice, understand and value.
- Where competing websites communicate more convincingly or reduce buyer uncertainty.
- Why buyers may prefer, shortlist or contact another agency.
- What creates hesitation around making contact.
- Which aspects of your website are working well and should be protected.
- What changes should be prioritised to strengthen buyer confidence and improve the journey towards enquiry.
Dedicated projects can be scheduled independently, and your results are typically available 2–3 weeks after commissioning.
More details…
Real buyers, not generic participants
UK founders, co-founders and senior product decision-makers who are either:
- Considering appointing an external agency for an MVP within the next 3–12 months; or
- Have personally selected an MVP agency within the last 12 months.
All participants are/were directly involved in the supplier decision and have/had funding, an approved budget or a credible route to funding.
Participants are recruited and screened specifically for each test rather than drawn from a generic user-testing panel.
What you’ll know at the end
- Where your website builds and loses buyer confidence.
- Why buyers may prefer your agency, or another one.
- What potential clients understand, question, and miss.
- Which claims, evidence and differentiators buyers value most.
- What alternative agency websites communicate more effectively.
- What creates hesitation or friction around making contact.
- Which improvements should be prioritised to support conversion optimisation.

Why Userfy?
My background spans market research, corporate strategy, product leadership and user research.
I began my career in market research at Boots, later held corporate strategic marketing roles, and went on to co-found, build and sell a multi-million-pound digital and software business. I also co-founded and sold a separate user research consultancy.
Since then, via Userfy, I have conducted hundreds of moderated user research sessions for start-ups, SMEs and FTSE 100 companies.
This combination of research experience and first-hand commercial experience is particularly relevant when understanding how potential clients assess, compare and choose agencies.

Questions you may have
Are six buyers enough?
Yes. Six carefully selected buyers are enough to uncover the key issues affecting how your agency is understood, trusted and compared.
The sessions are designed to reveal where buyers become uncertain, what weakens confidence, what influences preference and what could be improved to make the website more persuasive and easier to act on.
Do buyers know they are comparing agencies?
Participants are guided through assessing the websites as part of a real-life buying exercise. The order in which websites are viewed is rotated so that no agency consistently benefits from being seen first.
Are these real buying decisions?
Participants are recruited because they are either actively considering appointing an external MVP agency partner or have recently been directly involved in choosing one. The research explores the questions, evidence, doubts and trade-offs that influence a real shortlist and enquiry decision.
How are participants qualified?
Participants are screened for their role in the buying decision, project relevance, funding or budget availability, and either current intention to appoint an external development agency or recent first-hand experience of doing so.
Will another participating agency see weaknesses in my website?
No. Never. In a shared project, participating agencies only know the topline characteristics of the other agencies included. Each receives private findings about its own website. Comparative reporting focuses on what alternative approaches communicated more or less effectively without sharing another agency’s private report, recommendations or detailed participant feedback.
Do I receive the session recordings?
With a dedicated project, you receive full session recordings. With a shared project, you will receive selected video clips illustrating important findings related to your website only.
What if buyers think my website is already working well?
That is valuable evidence too. The research will identify what is already creating confidence, what should be protected, where your website performs strongly against alternatives and whether there are still opportunities to improve the enquiry journey.
